Dr. Alex John Brandon, aged 59, passed away on May 12, 2024. He was a be loved father, brother, com munity member, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his two cher ished daughters, Monroe (11) and Josie (9), whom he adored more than anything.

AJ was born on April 19, 1965, in Wallace, Idaho, and spent his childhood in Kent, Washington, where he experienced his formative years. After graduating from the University of Washington, AJ pursued a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific and later received his certification in orthodontics from Columbia University. In 2003, AJ established his own practice, Bran don Orthodontics, in San Clemente, CA. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. AJ was recognized for going above and beyond for his patients, ensuring not only the best smiles for them but also providing financial assistance whenever he could.

More than anything, AJ was a devoted father. He loved spending time with Monroe and Josie, cheering them on during their water polo matches, teaching them how to build things, and watching their favorite shows. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

In his free time, AJ enjoyed being a dad, fishing, off-roading, rebuilding his truck, teaching other kids to fish, and scuba diving. He was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He was an active member of his community, volunteering for various causes and organizations.

Dr. Ellie Bennett, DDS, will be taking over Brandon Orthodontics. Dr. Ellie is committed to continuing Dr. Brandon's legacy, providing the same level of care, dedication, and compassion that he was known for. She and the entire team understand the impact of this loss and are here to support during this transition.

AJ is survived by his children, Monroe and Josie, and his brother, Jeff. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held on August 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary South OC, 1311 Calle Batido, San Clemente, CA 92673.
