Carlos Abelardo Lamas

Carlos was born in Pacasmayo, Peru, on November 16, 1927, and died peacefully in his sleep August 28, 2019, in Mission Viejo, California.

He was raised in Peru by his parents, Abelardo Lamas Mendo and Mercedes Gallegos Esteves. He was the oldest of eight brothers. Carlos is survived by 5 brothers, Andres, Mauro, Telmo, Manuel and Humberto. His brothers Abelardo and Agusto passed before him.

Carlos moved to the United States in the 1950's and married Katherine Marie Palmer. He was father to three children, Cynthia A. Locy, Mercedes M. Winvick and Carlos A. Lamas. His seven grandchildren, Thomas, Megan, Randall, Benjamin, Christopher, Tiffani and Hailey brought an absolute joy to his full life, along with his six great- grandchildren.

In 1972 Carlos moved to Dana Point, where he owned and operated a business that remains in service today. His employees, customers and business associates have many wonderful memories of Carlos.

During his life he remained dedicated to his family and loved ones and was known as a fierce, loving and honest man who was always available in any time of need.

His hobbies included fishing, boating and spending time around the ocean.

He loved to spend time with his family and friends, telling stories and sharing memories. Carlos' smile was at its brightest when playing or holding a child. He was generous with his time and will be missed by all that knew him.
