Brennan Thomas Miller-Jones Obituary

Bloomington, Indiana - Brennan Thomas Miller-Jones passed away on December 2, 2025, in Bloomington, Indiana, at the young age of 18. Born on February 8, 2007, and raised in Dana Point, California, Brennan's infectious smile and adventurous spirit were a gift to all who knew him.

Brennan's academic journey was marked by excellence and ambition. A recent graduate with high honors from Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, he was a member of the National Honor Society, an active participant in Model United Nations, and a four-year member of the lacrosse team. His passion for learning and leadership continued at Indiana University, Bloomington. At IU, he was pursuing a degree in finance at the Kelley School of Business and was a proud pledge class member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

From his first job as a Matt Leinart flag football referee to his three years as a deckhand and cook for Dana Wharf Sportfishing, Brennan's work ethic and enthusiasm were evident. His commitment to service shone brightly through his achievement of becoming an Eagle Scout with Troop 113 of San Clemente. Brennan's zest for life extended to the playing fields where he excelled in lacrosse (OC Rebels, Mad Dog, St. Edward and SMCHS), football (Matt Leinart, St. Edward & SMCHS), baseball (DPYB), golf (Marbella CC), soccer (AYSO/LNYSA), and swimming (Marbella CC & San Clemente Junior Lifeguards). His love for sports was not limited to the field; he was an avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers, Utah Utes, and Washington Commanders. Beyond sports, Brennan's interests were diverse and rich. He explored photography, was an avid coin collector, and loved traveling. Above all, Brennan's passions included skiing and locally, fishing and surfing. His love for music, movies and games of all kinds, from cards to video games, brought joy to his friends and family.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Brennan will remember him as a young man who made friends easily and brought laughter, light, and honesty to all their activities. He was always up for a trip, loved to explore with his family, and ensured that once someone became a friend, they felt included in his life.

Brennan is survived by his loving parents, Gregory Brennan Miller-Jones and Jennifer Nye Miller-Jones; his sister, Catherine Nye Miller-Jones; his grandparents, Connie and Henry Miller-Jones, Gregory Nye and his wife Brenda Sexton, and step-grandfather Edward McGinn. He will also be fondly remembered by his aunts and uncles, Andrea Miller-Jones & Chris Capra, Thomas Miller-Jones & Tara Sisneros, Jennifer & Steve Kraemer, and Matt McGinn & Shannon Trotta. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, LynAnn McGinn.

Brennan's legacy is one of hard work, competitiveness, authenticity, humor, loyalty, adventure, and intelligence. Those who knew him would describe him as funny, adventurous, and friendly—a young man who lived his life with a drive that inspired everyone around him. As we mourn the loss of Brennan, we also celebrate the remarkable impact he had on our lives in such a short time. His memory will continue to inspire us to embrace life with the same fervor and joy that he did every day.

A Memorial Service and reception for Brennan will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church at 10:00am on Saturday, December 20th.
